Project Description
The cover of Das große Buch vom Fisch showcases the beauty of seafood through a minimalist design centred on a single fish image. The clean composition and restrained typography emphasise the elegance and diversity of seafood while reflecting the book’s focus on ingredients, craft, and culinary tradition.
Scope of Work
• Cover concept & design
• Image composition
• Typography & layout
Concept Focus
The central image is created using the traditional Gyotaku technique, an ancient Japanese art form that uses real fish prints to capture natural textures and details. By combining this technique with a contemporary editorial layout, the design highlights both the authenticity of the material and the craftsmanship behind seafood preparation.
